@ics@tau-ceti.space It really isn't. But it's somehow breaking social barriers because it's "cool". At my wife's work, they assigned a whole team to do an AI-assisted 6-month bug scrub. They've been going through the back-log, looking for bugs they think an agent can fix, having a QA person generate and test a fix and then kicking it to the engineers. One of the bugs "fixed" was something my wife wanted to fix a year ago but didn't because she couldn't get a PM to sign off on her spending the time. But because it's an "AI bug blitz", suddenly it's worth the time. And of course none of this is cheaper in terms of engineering time because engineers still have to review the code and run the whole internal process to get stuff merged, which is often the time consuming part. But shit's getting done just because it's a good excuse to play with AI. 🤦🏻♀️
