I feel responsible/guilty for my ex wife's mental health despite knowing I did everything I could. I saw our vows through until the end. She left because of MY mental health; I was allegedly making her miserable. She is still miserable. When she left she said "Don't call me for help because I won't answer," but she has called me for help multiple times🙃
She apologized in a non specific way but still seems oblivious to the suffering she caused me. My therapist thinks her brain literally can't handle it, hence the projection, deflection and denial. I'm never going to get the apology I want from her. It is what it is. She wallows in misery, but at the same time, cannot sit with discomfort for even a second. She hands it to me to deal with.
I gave friendship an honest try, but she blew right past my boundaries about her MH. She also hit on me (then backtracked) and said I could set up a house on their property. WHAT? After I just spent $4,000 rebuilding my life and we fought about housework all the time?? I was flabbergasted. I guess we are no contact now, I don't have her blocked but I told her I can't do this.
I've told her to seek professional help a million times but there is always a bullshit reason. While we were married she owed her psychiatrist $75 for a missed appointment and didn't want to pay it on principle, but going somewhere else would be hard, so she went to the pharmacy each month and paid $300 for an emergency medication refill. Then she'd come home and bitch about how the pharmacist told her to become an established patient somewhere, the same thing I told her. Clearly the pharmacist and I were conspiring against her wellbeing.
Literally what else am I supposed to do? There is not a reality where we are friends and she doesn't make me responsible for her mental health. Eventually she is going to threaten to hurt herself again and my only options would be to ignore an armed suicidal person, call the cops on a trans woman, or cave and do what she wants. I refuse to do any of that so i'm just not going to put myself in that position.
