@Bredroll@mas.to it depends on what level of security is needed in your environment. Telegram (the upstream app) uses advanced encryption and is reasonably private, fine for civilian use.
If you need higher standards, you may want to use a paid alternative or self-host via XMPP, Matrix and the like.🙂

@LorenzoAncora@ieji.de something is either secure and private, or it isn't, the only difference is in the amount of effor users and attackers have to expend. Telegram is known to be entirely insecure for private messages despite on the appearance
