Just typing thoughts again, stuff I'm thinking about. Two wars/not-wars, two different outcomes, two things I consider a worthy study for Canadians. Venezuela - the reasons for the economic punishment (in which we were a participating party), asserting its sovereignty over its resources and in general, closely mirrors our current reality. I would expect that if things became military it would also take the form of decapitation over outright invasion. Iran - Survivor of decapitation, the US thought it would bring the regime down, but instead the people rallied for their country, even if when many of them are holding their nose while doing so. In both cases, existential threats overshadowed domestic conflict, and outcomes strongly depended on how the people react.
