@geekysteven@beige.party My response is usually something like, "AI yes, LLMs no." My technical knowledge doesn't go much deeper than that, but if the other person has no coherent response to that, they're just BSing anyway.

@albnelson@beige.party @geekysteven@beige.party I think the modern AI's actually go beyond LLM and integrate that technique with others like ML or pattern recognition. I think LLM will continue to be a useful technique in AI. We have to go through a phase where we apply it to everything before we figure out what it actually works on and what it doesn't. If this was just a technical issue and not a nightmare riding on crazy we might have survived that process.
