One of the outcomes that programming produces is understanding. By building a system you gain knowledge about it as it is created. There's probably no better way of gaining that information. I would even argue it's the more important outcome than the actual executable code. Using "AI" coding removes this outcome entirely, so why should I ever want that?

    @aesthr@wandering.shop I’ve often gotten feedback at work that I’ve spent too much time writing proposals and planning work. It’s almost always ended up saving time, because what people don’t understand is that writing is a tool for structuring thinking, just as writing code is.
