There are now 2.35 million EVs on British roads. Note that for all the attempts to push stories about EV interest being down, the rate of uptake is remarkably consistent but you can now see a distinct upward curve in the line.

On Friday I shared the first of the regular analyses of UK new car registrations for June and now here is the second. The two analyses use different datasets but always tend to reinforce each other on the big picture. This summary by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders treats the various kinds of hybrid combustion vehicle differently from NewAutomotive and their breakdowns of vehicle types are more comprehensive but they agree on the share of EVs https://www.smmt.co.uk/vehicle-data/car-registrations/

@christineburns@mastodon.green I went to have a look if, amongst its tools, the site had a count of vehicles by type -- large/small SUV, compact etc. Not that I could see. And does this include light vans? I'm all too certain that any enviro impact savings/changes by going bEV are being eaten by weight and size bloat.
