Because my 'intro to sci-fi' list will be different depending on if the person says 'detective novels' or 'romance' or 'biographies of WWII generals.''

@LauraC_rter@scholar.social @penwing@wandering.shop if i was making book suggestions to 16 year old me... would be maybe a better prompt. i wasn't reading a lot as a teenager and not much that made me realise reading was fun and interesting and a great way to isolate yourself from your peers.
