if i was making book suggestions to 16 year old me... would be maybe a better prompt. i wasn't reading a lot as a teenager and not much that made me realise reading was fun and interesting and a great way to isolate yourself from your peers.

@floppyplopper@todon.nl @penwing@wandering.shop that's a good one! I had read a lot of science fiction by 16, but almost entirely 'golden age' stuff written by white men (because those were the books I could get hold of). Some Octavia Butler would have blown my mind (in a good way).
