@davep@infosec.exchange @Nickiquote@mstdn.social Re plastics: looking ahead to how we scale down to a minimum of recyclable plastics with near-zero new oil input, and avoiding too much plastic turning to CO2 when reformed. Enzyme-catalysed plastic restructuring? I do wonder if the push for biodegradable plastics is what’s led to microplastic fragmentation and mass loss into the environment. Maybe we should be avoiding self-degrading plastics, but keep 100% of them in circulation to be fully recycled.
