I copied a NetBSD image to the SD card for my Raspberry Pi but I realized I don't have the HDMI cable, nor an Ethernet cable.
Isn't there some way to plug it into a host computer via the USB ports and have it act like a little LAN?

You could create a user - https://wiki.netbsd.org/ports/evbarm/#index6h3 and then ssh into RPi or if you have USB-serial cable you could log in to serial console. Not sure if NetBSD will detect RPi at host computer as ucom(4) device via USB.
