Boss in Teams work group chat today (my day off): Team, I was just informed that the first shift [my shift] will be working 12 hours for the rest of the remainder of the month. Please adjust your schedule accordingly. The expected hours are 5am to 5pm. Weekends have yet to be determined [we are already working every day this month with no weekend shift]. Me: [Stanley from the office .gif] And they are paying us time **and a half** for the duration of the **request** ?!! Me: Seriously give me something. I was hired for 40 hours, and at this point I don't think [employer] ever intended to only work me that much since I have zero weeks at 40 hours worked. Boss: So are you filling out a timecard? Me: I mean I am. Me: I'll be there tomorrow. Boss: Are you putting all your time in, not just 40 hrs. I want to make sure you are at least getting your hourly rate for hours over 40. Me: I have put in a timecard ever since my first week (which was also over 40 hours)mand every one is over 40 hours. Boss: Ok, first I just wanted to make sure you were getting paid. Me: If [employer] wants to make more profit by destroying my personal life they need to pay me better than straight time overtime [multiple ‼️ reacts] Boss: This is not ideal by any shape. I get where you are coming from. My feet are killing me. I haven't been this tired since finals week in college. All we can hope for is that this changes in October. Boss: We can talk about this tomorrow offline. Me: Ok [precedes to gather all non-management people in this group chat's phone numbers to make an iMessage group]
