"It also means having an honest conversation with the CFO before the CFO has it with you. Because the gap between what your organization pays for AI today and what it will pay in 18 months is going to be one of the most disruptive line-item increases most companies have ever absorbed." @joeposaurus@chaos.social Their solution is always "punish/lay off workers". They are very secure in their executive suites that they can make the line go up regardless of the wholesale destruction of civilization it entails.

  • @joeposaurus@chaos.social Drug dealers are giving gifts to foster addiction. The process has been analyzed and clarified so many times here that I'm eager to see what will happen when the doses will be charged full price.

@joeposaurus@chaos.social While this all makes sense, it is also vastly beyond my pay grade. I would really love to see the AI-booster counter argument. Because, fuck, if it really is this bad, the disruption is going to be massive and cascading.

@joeposaurus@chaos.social I mean they SHOULD know how it is. Most of them used to have VMware licensed and most of them migrated away with big pains after Broadcom blew up the license costs. What makes them believe that AI companies are playing a different game?

@joeposaurus@chaos.social amusing that the article itself appears AI assisted, but still very valid points!!

@joeposaurus@chaos.social Wait, "they are selling enterprises filet mignon at gas station hot dog prices"?!? So the AI that corporations are using now is "filet mignon"? Seriously? I'm having a really hard time swallowing that.

@joeposaurus@chaos.social State Of Brand seems to be a demo-site for Outlever, a company that sells AI-blogs-as-a-service. I'm not sure I'd trust it as a source, but it's weird that a very AI-heavy company is publishing this.
