If any of youse in Melb/Vic have shifted gas -> electric at home (even partially) and would be happy to be in a news article about it at some point, let me know...

@koosli@aus.social moved to Melbourne from Queensland in 2023 and could not believe the heating bills. We changed the ducted gas heating to electric, then got solar panels, then changed to an electric water heater, then changed the gas cooktop. Expensive, but it didn't feel like throwing money away, which is the feeling you get from paying bills. Poorly insulated 80s house with terrible windows still meant we fell short of "cosy".
