I’m probably not explaining it well enough or what the problem is, but maybe being vague will help: #songwriters and #creativeWriting folks: how do you write something that’s personal and maybe a little bit difficult or emotional, but not have it come out as whiny or overly-dramatic navel gazing? Any tips to make it have more emotional resonance and “feel” important? #songwriting #musicians

  • @mathias@metalhead.club Reading it out loud to yourself in a mirror or to someone you trust. You can find little things that don't flow right or don't come across like you would have hoped. Analyzing someone else's work by looking up lyrics as you're listening to stuff you like can be beneficial too for working out theme and pacing.
