He plays the same trick with "values" - telling us he has some and that surely we all share them, but failing to identify them. How we're meant to be "assertive" about values and "bold in our vision" he can't even articulate is beyond me.
There's a "rule" in writing "show don't tell" - Starmer is definitely telling, not showing... And barely even that...

To be absolutely fair, he does identify some "unifying concerns": "the struggle with the cost of living", "strong and vibrant communities", "opportunity for the next generation", oh, and "strong and secure borders" - three things which would fit on any party leaflet even if how to achieve is fraught with differences... And then the racist dog whistle... His next paragraph then tries to claim "progressive answers"... Without identifying them #UKPol
