@movim@piaille.fr Suppose one runs their own Movim server as https://github.com/movim/movim/wiki tells us. Can you tell us about federation? Can project A's Movim server federate *only* with project B's? I think so. I recall working in the XMPP arena at Oracle when Google Wave was a hot ticket over a decade ago (boy, was that a big wasted effort) and now I see Discord being blithely used by everyone often as their sole contact portal. People need a free alternative to Discord. You may be the ticket.

@VogueLaGalere@mastodon.online @movim@piaille.fr Yup we can federate with all Movim instances and in general across any XMPP server.

@VogueLaGalere@mastodon.online @movim@piaille.fr Movim is a client. It connects to an XMPP server. This server can federate with all open-for-federation XMPP servers out there. De-federating with some servers is also an option, that's less common in practice that on ActivityPub, but anything is possible. Does that answer your question? (which I am not entirely sure I understood ^^)
