@whophd@ioc.exchange @atpfm@mastodon.social @caseyliss@mastodon.social Very well said! and re: over-provisioning... And, if I could somehow sway our hosts to shift their thinking from the (incorrect) media narrative on Bitcoin, it is a pretty perfect solution to help justify it. Then you're not reliant on grid buying the power back or such... you over-provision, and turn excess generation into money to help cover that until ROI. Also, heard what used to be 50W panels are now 600W panels, so yeah, have to be current with the info!

@whophd@ioc.exchange In the winter, you can even shift the heat generated into the home for space-heat or water-heating. Some Scandinavian places are already using Bitcoin miners to heat the whole city. Or, Vancouver is looking at saving a really nice public pool by recouping heating costs in this way. Far-northern Canadian places are looking at small nuclear installs, which are $$$, but if Bitcoin mining subsidizes until load is purchased, it becomes possible. I heat our apartment w/ Bitcoin mining.
