Nate Graham's first-hand, blow-by-blow account on what went down: https://pointieststick.com/2026/09/23/kde-and-ai-and-you-and-me/ Not to do the click-baitey thing, but some of the details my clarify some of the points. Please read through the whole thing carefully to better understand the situation and why what was done was done.

  • @kde@floss.social as a signatory of that petition (under a different alias) I'd like to ask: if you don't care even a little about what users think and refer to collective action as "brigading", what makes you meaningfully different from the commercial tech sector? if i wanted to use software that i have no say in the development of, I'd use Windows!

@kde@floss.social I'd like to concur with a comment on that post: > Pulling up ones pseudonymous twitter is not doxxing. Additionally it was a bad look to keep the comments of a user who was known to say reprehensible things about race, while wiping the posts exposing the behavior (at least while #187 was still publicly visible)... I hope in the future you do not protect the public visibility of people who say harmful things, over others exposing those harmful views.

@kde@floss.social nate... you literally built up boundaries between users and contributors in this process the moment pushback from users appeared (and pulling up someones anonymous twitter account isnt doxxing) and the topic of AI Usage is adversarial and its inclusion in a way where its encouraged to not be disclosed to be used is where i feel cheated and exploited

@kde@floss.social i don't have a problem with how you handled things except for one detail if someone is doxxing someone, that should be banworthy... but if then, later, it's revealed, genuine proof, that the doxxed person is an actual bonafide nazi, then the person doing the original doxxing should be *un*banned and maybe that happened, i don't know doxxing is wrong unless we're doxxing nazis

@kde@floss.social "At the KDE café it has come to our attention that many users object to us pissing in the coffee. Some object on ethical grounds and some point out that this is unhygienic and that is totally a valid stance. At the same time one cannot ignore the power of piss in coffee and the many benefits piss in coffee brings. So after considering the situation we drafted a policy limiting the amount of piss we put in the coffee! This should please the anti-piss users because surely less piss in your coffee is good yes?"
