@tasket@infosec.exchange My line was that people who want to replace Linux, but without AI, don't understand Linux or AI. I still think that's true.
What they are signing up for is just a sad future slog where they must reproduce the same security fixes, and the same driver enhancements, and the same new drivers, by hand.
It is a treadmill pursuit.

@buckfiftyseven@mastodon.social I disagree. Linux embodies an outdated architecture and a microkernel will greatly reduce the amount and severity of security issues. Linux wasn't providing a way to reach for the future – stemming the insane tidalwave of exploits we see in the news every week – and the public's willingness to be herded into a dystopia hinges greatly on that legacy of insecurity. The fact that most of us are talking about microkernels is an indicator our interest is anything but "just because".
