The obvious (to me, anyway) solution: disassemble Melty Switch, extract the entire right rail module, and install it in Lefty Switch. That gets me a second working Switch, and I can keep Melty around for parts. As usual, the #iFixit guides (https://www.ifixit.com/Device/Nintendo_Switch) are my reference here. Good stuff. First roadblock was realizing that I didn't own a set of JIS screwdriver bits. I put in an order and waited a week.

The 4 Y-screws on the back of Melty Switch came out fine, and then the first JIS screw on the top, and then there are two JIS screws on the bottom, flanking the charging port ... Huh. Going back to that first picture of Melty Switch, you may all realize along with me that the plastic has warped so badly that there's no longer any way to access those screws. (Also, this closeup is giving me Cronenberg vibes, and now it's creepy.) My solution is violence.
