@mhkohne@mastodon.social No it doesn't? There are aria attributes to hide stuff from screen readers. This webpage uses them. The author even has a footnote, emphasizing the importance of doing aria-hidden on the hidden element.
If anything, it's likely to filter out some people without screen readers. In the comments, some people note that it looks wrong on terminal-based browsers. Because those are interpreting the visual markup where it's not hidden; and they don't support text smaller than 1rem or whatever (1 terminal cell), so a 0px font is still readable there, unlike in a graphical browser which can render 0px fonts as invisible, and unlike a screen reader which uses the accessibility tree that doesn't contain this element.
