We just released Mastodon 4.6.2, 4.5.13 and 4.4.20. Those versions only update our container image to fix an important security issue in ffmpeg, which Mastodon uses to process videos.
If you do not use our container image, you may skip this update but you need to update your installed ffmpeg to a patched version (ffmpeg 8.1.2, 7.1.5, 6.1.6, or 5.1.10)

@MastodonEngineering@mastodon.social Just to be clear: if my distribution (Ubuntu) does not provide a patched version of ffmpeg (I have 6.1.1-3ubuntu5 available), but I also do not use the container version of mastodon, I *should* update?
