Friends! Roadmen! CountryBen! Lend me your ears. I DID A RUN! For some reason I cannot tell you, I was in a pretty good mood this evening. For the first time ever I felt good GOING IN to the run. To the extent I noticed that not everyone turns up at the beginning brimming with optimism. It looks like I might not be totally alone in struggling to get out the door on a Tuesday night. But it was PACKED tonight. Absolutely loads of people. Maybe 50 or 60 runners. Bunch of old folk in lycra running about the streets of West Wickham in the dark with their hi-vis and lights. Had a lovely time. Ran with some people I like. Did the harder group and felt pretty good. In fact I felt great. Fit and strong. Wow. Feels weird saying that. These are the running moments I live for. All of those difficult times, pushing and feeling rubbish. Going beyond my comfort zone and cursing myself and all who sail in me. For that one time when I go out and just absolutely smash it and have a great time. I'm really happy. Buzzing really. Tremendo in your endo. May all the good things come to you, my friends (AND enemies). I beam love and light all over your face and into your eyes. There is no escape. Sorry about that. X
