The Alberta Tar Sand crude is so heavy that it requires specialized refineries. Europe might not have that capacity. Natural gas is probably a different story.

@ScribblersEmporium@mastodon.world What I hear is "jobs in pre-processing our crude so it's compatible with European refineries". That also opens up opportunities with secondary products (and also challenges with dealing with externalities from that processing, and I think there would be an appetite for European investment in that.
