So far 🍄 eyelid theatre has been colorful shapes, a wiggling 90s arcade carpet I watch until I fall asleep. But last night after I put my sleep mask on, I was seeing faces in the darkness. They were warping like Wish Nikki in Obsession. The depth of the darkness didn’t make sense because I sleep in 80% darkness but this was like 120%. I was scared at first, peeking out from my sleep mask to make sure the power didn’t go out for real. Then I felt safe in the “advanced darkness.” As a child I would plunge into it before sleep, day or night. I could easily be absorbed in it. I had totally forgotten. I’m curious to see if it comes back. I kind of hope it does. I didn’t have a nightmare, although the dream was stressful.
