It does come off as a kind of fake grief. I also block all the wholesome meme communities, so it’s annoying to see the regular meme comms get flooded with “remember when (celebrity) did this and showed everyone how good of a person they are”. Don’t really see the point in downvoting it but it definitely makes me roll my eyes.
