What they have released is a tool that lets you build and share filters. Filtering is not moderation. Filtering is like “block this phrase” on Twitter, moderation is the posts actually being removed. Bluesky want to muddy the difference because they favor a system where there is no moderation, where bad actors are welcome as long as everyone else gets a filter for “don’t show me Nazi posts”, “don’t show me kiwifarms”, and so on.
