There are no "centrists" in America that were put off from policies due to "woke 1.0". There are racists who wanted to see the race-based hierarchy reinforced back to the pre-Civil Rights Act standards - in other words a return to Jim Crow. I've been discouraged to see a lot of folks who are ostensibly socialists, like AOC, thinking that they'll be able to win over people by, even rhetorically, siding against civil rights. Socialism in America will never win without black socialists.
