I realized I hadn't mentioned what I wear when I'm not in barefoot shoes, and that answer is short and simple, but I made a quick page anyway: https://satellite.eilloh.net/shoes #Birkenstocks

@hollie@social.coop Never got into this but I've been fascinated by the idea. I tend to dislike most shoes because of they have so much padding I feel... tactilely isolated from the ground? Maybe I should pick up some barefoot shoes.

@hollie@social.coop neat! Funny you mention this, I used to love my Rocketdog sneakers because they were wider in the front and so ridiculously comfortable. I might go find a pair now for casual days haha

@hollie@social.coop Thanks, great page! I don't go actually barefoot since moving here to the land of rocks, spiky plants and cacti. But in summer I pretty much live in Xero shoes or sandals (do you not know about xeroshoes.com, or don't like them?) Thick enough to work in our basalt-and-prickles yard, but still light and flexible, grippy, and tons of toe room. Lately I'm searching for moccasins like some I had as a teenager: suede uppers just above the ankle, with soft bendy 4-5mm foam soles.

@hollie@social.coop last year I wrote a similar post (in 🇫🇷 French). I develop how I got started barefoot, what I wear and list some brands for you to shop. https://geoffreyarduini.com/pieds-nus-esprit-libre-pourquoi-jai-dit-adieu-aux-chaussures-classiques
