#3GoodThings 1. I received an email asking about an item I had ordered. The item arrived broken (shipped from the midwest, made of thin particle board, not packaged super well.) I replied with a description of the damage, and explained that I had glued the broken areas and that it is now functional, but that they might consider better packing materials for long-distance shipping. To my surprise, I received a new item last week, unbroken. It was kind of an expensive thing, so I was not expecting them to replace the one I'd already received, especially since I had let them know that I had fixed it. I'm pretty happy, as I had been contemplating taking my chances on ordering a second one later this year. This morning I went to a nearby chocolate shop and had them mail a box of nice chocs to the company, with my thank you. 2. Last August/September I began to notice some pretty flowering trees and shrubs, and found that they are crape myrtle. I've been looking at them more, and think I'll get one next year, once I decide where to plant it. I like to see colorful blossoms this late in the season. 3. My husband made a big pot of chili, it came out quite well, and will make good eating for the next few days.
