We're finally on a proper vacation! Autumn is here, and we appear to have totally lucked out on hitting fall colors as they approach peak brightness. Temps are cool, perfect for hiking.
Yesterday we drove from the Twin Cities across Wisconsin to Bessemer MI, just across the border into the UP. Not much hiking: just a couple of pit stops at little parks along the way. Seems that cleaning folks at Clear Lake Park have about had it with shenanigans in their facilities...

Entering ski country! We stopped at a little county park to feed the pups a late lunch and discovered Whitecap Mountains Resort on the other side of the lake. Not much skiing going on here yet! Some skiers may snicker at Whitecap's 400 feet of vertical, but they have 43 runs descending all sides! And both a chalet and a wine hut! We do our best to justify posting here on mountains.social! 🎿 🚠 ⛰️ 🧵 2/x
