Don't want to make my prickly introvert friends feel alienated by this take, I don't think you have to be universally appealing and easy to get along with at the expense of your peace and your morals.
But like, even prickly introverts are doing better at maintaining good friendships in Seattle than the hateful wet blankets who need to move back to Ohio if they like it so much.

@pencilears@mastodon.eternalaugust.com I had a former colleague from the DC area who did nothing but complain about it here. I remember complaining about her on twitter and someone (maybe you now that I think about it) suggested she sounded homesick, which reframed my whole interaction with her. I didn't find her any more likeable, but it did help me be more understanding. She did eventually move back to the DC area and if her instagram is to be believed looks much happier.
