@Skoop@phpc.social @Philsturgeon@mastodon.green I don't think Proton is as explicitly fashy as 1Password, but there's been enough missteps in recent years (https://techstory.in/proton-mail-faces-backlash-over-claims-of-political-neutrality-amid-ceos-praise-for-republican-party/, https://old.reddit.com/r/degoogle/comments/1tzbizh/proton_is_funding_the_french_far_right_on_youtube/) that I'd be hesitant of jumping ship to them. Historically I'd have recommended Bitwarden, but they replaced their CEO this year, and somewhat seem to be posturing for an exit, so that's dented trust a bit.
