@Skoop@phpc.social @Philsturgeon@mastodon.green I don't think Proton is as explicitly fashy as 1Password, but there's been enough missteps in recent years (https://techstory.in/proton-mail-faces-backlash-over-claims-of-political-neutrality-amid-ceos-praise-for-republican-party/, https://old.reddit.com/r/degoogle/comments/1tzbizh/proton_is_funding_the_french_far_right_on_youtube/) that I'd be hesitant of jumping ship to them.
Historically I'd have recommended Bitwarden, but they replaced their CEO this year, and somewhat seem to be posturing for an exit, so that's dented trust a bit.

@squid@social.squiddev.cc @Philsturgeon@mastodon.green yeah, I've been following that, but so far it seems to be just the CEO, not the Proton organization. it's definitely something to keep an eye on. My current customer has their own self-hosted Passbolt. It's UX is... meh, but it works
