That Cadillac they pull up in is, by the way, an extraordinarily expensive Eldorado Brougham. Priced like a Rolls-Royce when they built just over 700 total in '57 and '58.

On the drunken theme, the Eldorado Brougham came with a bar in its glovebox that featured magnetized tumblers. No real surprise for the era. My grandparents drove drunk all the time -- Mom remembers how they'd sometimes, late at night after a party, think Lake Tahoe sounded fun, so they'd load all the kids in the car and drive up. Totally loaded. It's amazing they all survived.
