Christian conservatives will look at the increasing number of family annihilators and still tell kids stupid shit like “everything you need to know about parenting is in your DNA” and “motherhood is a woman’s purpose.” Economic stress is the biggest predictor of familicide. Couple that with the lack of help since a large portion of this country thinks “post partum depression/psychosis isn’t real, God provides for all his children 🤪” and you have millions of parents in a pressure cooker situation. Until the structural issues with child welfare and post partum care in this country are addressed, people are just gonna keep murdering their families. Unfortunately for the kids currently growing up, most people would rather performatively whine about abortion than advocate for real children.
