@AdmSnackbar@mastodon.social I cannot fully agree. AlfaFold for one is a huge advancement in biotech. But direct results are not visible yet thus it is not so sexy as promises of all-knowing AI or even AGI.

@iurii@mastodon.world Alphafold is nice, yes, but if a seemingly impossible task has been apparently solved overnight, where's the research based on it? How many teams claimed, their AI can detect cancer from whatever? Where's the test? Unless the results are actually tested and applicable for actual research or actual products, I'll call bullshit. Granted, that can take a while, but extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof.
