The short-lived Gorsedda slate quarry. Massively capitalised in the late 1850s as the Bangor and Portmadoc Slate and Slate Slab Company, it closed by 1870.
It's nature was best summarised by the words:
"Everything that could facilitate the works was produced, nothing being wanted but the slate vein. There was no quarry there."
