As a person who very slowly moved my family and friends to matrix by bringing up the conversation one at a time and helping them get started, that guy sounds like a next level asshole.

My entire family group chat moved to signal in one night when I asked. Some of them already had it, but everyone being on signal and not just texting made me so happy I made a Lemmy post about it at the time.
