I really wish that the people looking for an LLM free computing life had better options. The problem is that real world software tends to exist in stacks of projects with no common developers or rules. And if any one part of the stack prematurely embraces AI, the whole stack now has a problem for the people who don’t want that. Right now, Linux and GCC and LLVM are already “tainted”. It’s becoming a practical impossibility to exist without using LLM code and that bothers me on others behalf. I believe in freedom of choice. Personally I’m trying to find a prosocial way to live in slopworld because I don’t see total exclusion as a realistic option, but I’m rooting for the people who want that. Ultimately I just want to make cool shit that human beings can use to make more cool shit.
