@dandylover1@someplace.social I would advise finding a competent classical guitar teacher near you. Books are a very limited medium for learning classical guitar up to a good level, and you’ll encounter issues along the way that a book cannot help with, like correcting thumb position, working on coordinating left and right hands, orienting on and moving across the fretboard smoothly, playing out of various positions and which notes are where within these, specifics about nail shape and care, etc. etc.

  • @cassana@the-crossroads-inn.com Long nails are definitely not a good idea for me. But I have heard of finger picks. I'mn not sure if they can be used with the classical guitar, though. If I can't do it with books, I might just find another hobby. There's too much involved with working with a teacher. It's not a language where I can just do an audio chat and hand in homework. I'm glad I'm finding this out now.
