@cassana@the-crossroads-inn.com Long nails are definitely not a good idea for me. But I have heard of finger picks. I'mn not sure if they can be used with the classical guitar, though. If I can't do it with books, I might just find another hobby. There's too much involved with working with a teacher. It's not a language where I can just do an audio chat and hand in homework. I'm glad I'm finding this out now.

@dandylover1@someplace.social In the classical guitar world, the discussion about "nails vs no nails" has been raging for ages. The purists will lean "nails" because that results in more volume, dynamic range and clarity. That discussion will probably still be going on next century. Fingerpicks on classical guitar however is a much more straight forward "not done." They get in the way of the tactile feel of the instrument, offer less precise dynamic control, and alter the sound considerably.
