Hi, @mastofeed@mastodon.social I just discovered Mastofeed thanks to @macfranc@poliversity.it 's post. Can you tell me if the truncation of messages also happens with Mastodon versions that allow writing more than 500 characters? And how does it work with publishing formatting (mastodon glitch-soc can use markdown)?

@kathsone@infosec.exchange several users of my Mastodon Glitch-soc instance use Mastofeed and here you can find a message using it: https://poliversity.it/@letterina/114247075467252263 I can't tell you how glitch-soc's Markdown formatting works, but I can assure you that BBCode formatting works perfectly, because I regularly use Mastofeed with my Friendica account! Here you can see an excerpt from the Friendica guide where I explained how to use Mastofeed: https://www.informapirata.it/2024/07/25/w-la-friendica-che-dio-la-benedendica-la-guida-al-facebook-del-fediverso/#feed Here you can see other messages I regularly send from Friendica using mastofeed: https://poliverso.org/display/0477a01e-4767-e6ec-4d22-256033278459 https://poliverso.org/display/0477a01e-7067-e6d8-ecd2-46d657350305 Please note that BBCode is a true markup language, while Markdown is practical but extremely crude; some of Mastofeed's formatting, such as parentheses that enclose entire sections of the source RSS feed, may conflict with the Markdown formatting intended for Mastodon Glitch links. @mastofeed@mastodon.social
