@bodhipaksa@mastodon.scot I don’t post text images so my descriptions would be of photographic images. I don’t want to make the situation worse by making assumptions and describing something from the perspective of a sighted person. I usually say it’s a particular animal or it’s a landscape etc. I’m quite anxious about this now.

@caitrionaGalway@mastodon.green I'm sorry you're anxious! I'd suggest not overthinking: just describe the image as you would so a sighted friend over the phone. Just be a friend. It'll be appreciated. Any visually impaired person who's hearing your descriptions will have heard references to and descriptions of landscapes, animals, etc thousands of times. They'll have their own understanding of what those things "look" like. You're not going to confuse anyone.
