Well, after narrowing the tab slot I think this is about as good as I'm going to get without redesigning the tab to have wings. Wings will absolutely hold without tape, but if I screw up and need back in the box, I risk damaging them or the rest of the box in the process. I think next year this is what I'll stick with and just get away with a smaller strip of tape. Unfortunate, but that's what it is.
