@nuintari@mastodon.bsd.cafe I used to do this by just emailing to the phone number at my provider. It was simple and worked reasonably well. No idea if they still offer that service, though.

@XenoPhage@infosec.exchange @nuintari@mastodon.bsd.cafe Seconding this. I did this for YEARS and it was reliable and fast. It's usually something like XXX-YYY-ZZZZ@txt.example.com and messages were delivered in about 60 seconds.
