@TechConnectify it's first time actually I hear about these. Must've been rare in Europe. "because it doesn't even know what pixels are" made me LOL 🤣

    @tom @TechConnectify I remember seeing one in a ski hotel in Italy in mid-90's, and was even looking to get one about a decade later.

    @tom @TechConnectify my extremely rich (in Eastern Europe in the 90s standards) had such a projector, it was the size of a washing machine, and costed a fortune at the time

    @tom @TechConnectify Well those existed in Europe, too, but were rare. They did exist in rear-projection TVs and some cinemas had it to be able to show OKish TV shows. When TV shows started to have back-projection video in the 1990s, they sometimes used a stack of 2 or more of those to get an acceptable brightness. I think I've seen one of those at a school, and they were apparently popular with banks for their boardrooms.
