@Lime i have permanent tinnitus, and i don't even know when or how i got it, i've had it as long as i can remember. although i did have a series of quite bad ear infections before i was 10, i suspect one of those did the damage.

  • @c_reider@sonomu.club @Lime@post.lurk.org forgive me for barging in - but I have had very severe / variable tinnitus as of the last 5 years, and despite doctors telling me an outer infection wouldn’t do this, it came as a result of a reoccurring double ear infection. (I had an initial milder tinnitus from a stupid 6 hour gig I played, but it was greatly worsened by the infections, and then even further by microsuction to sort one of them. So yeah, seems ear infections do this.) Either way, I became a bit obsessed with learning about tinnitus, hyperacusis and ear infections as a result…and have experienced a wild variety of tinnitus / hearing distortion “types” in a compressed period…in case any of you want to discuss these things. 😅 (I doubt anyone would.) But thoughts are with you; it’s not easy to deal with when the nervous system has spiked it. 🙏
