@Cognessence @Lime yeah, i mean, it's really not well understood at all from what i can gather. happily mine is just a constant chord of very high frequency sine tones, so i am able to ignore it when i need to. or even listen to it if i want to. a couple years ago i was taking a blood pressure medication that started giving me new tinnitus symptoms. the doctor insisted it wasn't the medication, because it wasn't listed as a side effect. but he was wrong. i switched meds & am fine now.

@Cognessence @c_reider I've had noticeable and often "loud" tinnitus for a long time but I'm pretty sure it's linked to my sensory processing disorder because having trouble hearing properly and having weird auditive phenomenons despite no ear infection or anything isn't new. I can't properly process most of my senses lol it often exhausts me to deal with tinnitus + visual snow & other visual disorders and all the other variable sensory issues, not a lot I can do and not much I can say to a doctor lol
